MDA course on Next Generation Sequencing Data Analysis for Genomics: from reads to candidate genes
A five day theoretical and practical course on analysis of Next Generation Sequencing data organized by the Institute of Computational Medicine of the Centro de Investigación Príncipe Felipe (CIPF) in Valencia, the Functional Genomics Node of the Spanish National Bioinformatics Institute (INB) and the CIBERER.
The course is oriented to experimentalists, end-users and PhD students who want to learn about the state-of-the-art in genomic data analysis methodologies in this fast developing area of genomics. Next generation sequencing data allows the study of biological processes at an unprecedenteded level of detail. However, transforming such genomic data into valuable biological information is not an easy task. Topics include quality control assessment, mapping, analysis of biases and errors, variant calling, evaluation of the impact of variats found and gene prioritization. Students will acquire the necessary skills for analyzing their own data using one of the most advanced software packages for genomic data integration and analysis. Lectures and hands-on sessions are taught in the facilities of the CIPF, which provide the ideal environment for the organization of bioinformatic courses.
Pre-registration closes by January 31st. >>>
Admittance will be notified on February 6th.
Registration and payment from February 7th to February 28th.
Course: March 11th to 15th.
